Both are natural Indian sandstone — the difference is the surface finish. Riven sandstone has a naturally split, heavily textured surface that suits traditional and cottage gardens. Smooth (sawn and honed) sandstone is cut flat with diamond saws and honed to a clean, even finish that suits contemporary properties, outdoor dining areas, and modern extensions.
Choose smooth sandstone if you want a sleek, designed look, a level surface for furniture, and easier cleaning. Choose riven sandstone if you want rustic character and a more forgiving, traditional finish.
Kandla Grey — blue-grey tones with subtle variation. The most popular contemporary choice, pairing well with anthracite bi-folds, modern furniture, and grey rendered walls.
