About Our Indian Sandstone Range
Indian sandstone slabs are the most popular choice for British gardens, and for good reason. Hand-cut from some of the hardest-wearing sandstone available, Indian sandstone paving slabs offer rich natural colour variation, a non-slip riven surface, and decades of durability — at a price point that consistently undercuts equivalent European stone. Our sandstone garden slabs start from £21/m² with UK-wide delivery from our Nottingham yard.
The collection covers the full Indian sandstone range, including the ever-popular Kandla Grey, warm Raj Green, golden Rippon Buff, and the cooler Mint Fossil and Autumn Brown shades. Most colours are available in single sizes and in mixed patio packs that lay in a classic random pattern, with 600x900 large-format slabs available across the most-requested colours.

Indian Sandstone Paving FAQs
How much do Indian sandstone slabs cost? Indian sandstone paving slabs typically cost between £21 and £30 per square metre in the UK, depending on colour, size, and pack format. Our range starts from £21/m², with premium colours like Mint Fossil and Raj Blend at the higher end. Mixed patio packs usually offer the best value per square metre.
What is the most popular Indian sandstone colour? Kandla Grey is consistently the most popular Indian sandstone colour in the UK, valued for its cool grey tones that suit both modern and traditional homes. Raj Green and Rippon Buff are the next most popular, offering warmer earth tones for country and cottage gardens.
Do Indian sandstone slabs need sealing? Sealing Indian sandstone is optional but recommended. A breathable sealant helps prevent staining from spilled food, drinks, and garden furniture, and slows the natural weathering process. Sandstone left unsealed will develop a softer, more weathered appearance over time, which many homeowners prefer.
Are 600x900 Indian sandstone slabs available? Yes. We stock 600x900 Indian sandstone slabs in Kandla Grey, Raj Green, and Autumn Brown, Camel Dust among others. This large-format size has become one of the most popular for contemporary patios, as it reduces visible joint lines and creates a cleaner finish.
What's the difference between calibrated and uncalibrated Indian sandstone? Calibrated Indian sandstone is machine-finished to a uniform thickness (typically 22mm), making it faster and easier to lay. Uncalibrated sandstone has variable thickness and is best suited to traditional builds where laying speed is less critical. All of our Indian sandstone is calibrated for consistent installation.
Can I lay Indian sandstone slabs myself? Yes — Indian sandstone is one of the most DIY-friendly natural paving materials, particularly when supplied calibrated. A full mortar bed and the correct sub-base are essential for a long-lasting finish.
Do you deliver Indian sandstone slabs UK-wide? Yes. We dispatch Indian sandstone paving across the UK from our Nottingham yard, usually within 2–3 working days. Trade customers can also collect from the yard.
