About Our Granite Paving Range
Granite paving slabs are the strongest natural stone you can lay outdoors — denser than sandstone, harder than limestone, and engineered by nature to handle decades of foot traffic, frost, and weather without losing colour or surface texture. For UK patios, pathways, and driveways where durability matters as much as appearance, granite is the long-term investment that pays you back. Our granite paving range starts from £27/m² with UK-wide delivery from our Nottingham yard.
Every slab in our granite collection features a flamed surface finish — a heat-treated process that opens the stone's natural texture and creates an excellent slip-resistant grip in wet weather. The 20mm thickness and 900x600 large-format size make for fast, contemporary installations with fewer visible joints, while the cool silver-grey tones suit both modern and traditional gardens.

Granite Paving FAQs
How much does granite paving cost in the UK? Granite paving slabs typically cost between £27 and £45 per square metre in the UK, depending on colour, size, and finish. Our granite paving range starts from £27/m² for flamed silver grey 900x600 slabs. Granite setts and cobbles are priced separately and typically sit in the £40–£55/m² range.
Is granite better than sandstone for paving? Granite is harder, denser, and longer-lasting than sandstone, with a 50+ year lifespan compared to sandstone's typical 20+. It's also better suited to high-traffic areas and driveways. Sandstone offers warmer, more varied colour tones at a lower price point. Granite is the right choice when durability and long-term performance matter most.
Can I use granite paving on a driveway? Yes — granite is one of the few natural paving materials genuinely rated for driveway use. It must be laid on a full mortar bed over a properly prepared Type 1 sub-base, and we recommend speaking to an experienced installer for driveway projects. For high-load driveways, granite setts are often preferred over slabs.
What is a flamed granite finish? Flamed granite is heat-treated with a high-temperature torch, which causes the surface crystals to pop and create a textured, naturally slip-resistant finish. It preserves the stone's full colour while adding grip — ideal for outdoor use in the wet British climate.
Do granite paving slabs need sealing? Sealing granite is optional. Granite has very low porosity and naturally resists staining, moss, and weathering far better than sandstone or limestone. A breathable sealant can be applied to enhance colour, but it's not required for durability.
Is granite slippery when wet? No — our granite slabs feature a flamed finish, which creates a textured surface with excellent grip in wet conditions. Polished granite (which we don't stock for outdoor use) can be slippery, but flamed granite is one of the safest paving choices for UK weather.
What sizes are your granite paving slabs available in? Our granite paving range features 900x600 large-format slabs in 20mm thickness. We also stock granite setts and cobbles in smaller formats (typically 100x100 and 200x100) for borders, edging, driveways, and feature areas.
Do you deliver granite paving across the UK? Yes. We deliver granite paving UK-wide from our Nottingham yard, usually within 2–3 working days. Granite is heavy, so kerbside pallet delivery is the standard method. Trade customers can also collect from the yard.
